Lululemon Athletica Inc. (LULU), alongside its subsidiaries, specializes in the design, global distribution, and retail of athletic apparel and accessories for both women and men, with business operations are structured into company-owned retail establishments and direct-to-consumer sales. The company’s offerings include pants, shorts, tops, and jackets, all crafted for promoting a healthy lifestyle and facilitating athletic endeavors. These activities span yoga, running, training, and other physically demanding pursuits.

Beyond apparel, Lululemon also supplies fitness-related accessories and a selection of footwear. Lululemon products are acquired through numerous channels—a global network of corporate-managed stores, outlet locations, an interactive digital workout platform, seasonal warehouse sales, and via wholesale partnerships with entities like yoga studios, health clubs, and fitness centers. Further sales occur through temporary pop-up shops and various licensing and supply agreements, dedicated mobile applications, and its primary e-commerce website, lululemon.com.

By January 2022, Lululemon boasted 574 stores operating under its brand name across the United States, Canada, the People’s Republic of China, Australia, the United Kingdom, Japan, New Zealand, Germany, South Korea, Singapore, France, Malaysia, Sweden, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, and Switzerland.

Operations

In December 2025, CEO Calvin McDonald announced that he would be stepping down, effective January 2026, to be replaced later by Heidi O’Neill (former Nike executive) by September 2026. . Meghan Frank (CFO) and André Maestrini (President & Chief Commercial Officer) were named interim co-CEOs with Board Chair Marti Morfitt assuming the role of Executive Chair.

The company also announced plans to enter six new markets in 2026 via franchise partnerships (Greece, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Romania with Arion Retail Group and India with Tata CLiQ). Full-year 2026 guidance called for modest revenue growth, initially.

Net revenue rose modestly, driven by international markets, while North America declined through both Q1 and Q2 2026, leading to full-year 2026 revenue guidance being lowered to roughly flat to slightly down. Product development lead times were shortened and the company continued efforts to increase the mix of new styles. Growth in China Mainland growth moderated significantly. Net new store openings for the year were reduced to approximately 35.

September 2026 reported international franchise expansion being continued, with market entries in Europe and India progressing as planned.
